i was born in this world in a small village in palakkad district nmed Pallassana. it is really a heaven on earth surrounded by paddy fields on all sides of the village on one side eastern ghats range and on the other side westerb ghats. My primary eduication was at a small school near pazhaya kavu and afterwards at upper primary school at pallassana east the school was ably managed by samu master and sheshadri master
after passing eslc i joined higher secondary school at koduvayur.
there never used to bebus transport and we students from our village used to walk daily 7km in the morning to the school and 7km in the evening barefoot.
the village had no electriciyu then and i used to read books in the evening and at night by the hurricane lamb.
our village home had was constructed some time in 1810 by my grandfather.the house enterance was through a rosewood door known as lakshmi kabadam.as you enter you will be in thinnai with sitout adn then rezhi and koodam where we used to have about 30 pictures of god and godesses.all the poojas are done in this room. clkose to koodam there is a small dark room known as mochu kkul where the ptovisions for one year is stored the space between mochukkul and rezhi is having two small partioned rooms made of rosewood knwn as arai where we used to keep paddy and house hold vessels used very rarely.
after koodam there is one small room known as chinna adukkalai which is in fact our modern dinning hall and then ktitchen with big aduppu made of clay/
after kitchen you have cattle shed where we used to have two cows.milking of the cow is donw by my mother
almost all the village houses used to have similar rooms
with the migration of brahmins of the brahmins after land ceiling bill in 1962 many houses were sold to non brahmins and you will find non brahmins mixing freely with brahmins.the houses arte well lit by electric lambs and remodelled with concrete rooms etc
after some time you will find village house models in museaum only
